Govt. Degree College Jourian organizes a friendly cricket match between the students of Semester 2 and Semester 6 today on 16.05.2023.
Innovation and Incubation Centre of Govt Degree College Jourian organised an extension lecture on Intellectual Property Rights in collaboration with IP Office Delhi. Ms Manisha Lakhera, Examiner IP Office Delhi acted as resource person and deliberated upon Intellectual Property Rights. A large no of students of different semesters attended the lecture. The lecture was quite interactive and informative in nature. Dr. Rakesh Bharti Convenor IIC and IQAC introduced the resource person and presented formal vote of thanks.
Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat, Dr Rimjhim Gupta, Dr Vandna Rajput, Dr Sushma Kumari, Dr Nazim Mohi Ud Din, Prof Pardeep Dubey and Mr Rattan Lal also attended the lecture and raised queries.
Department of Education, Govt. Degree College Jourian organized a quiz contest on the theme “The Life and Works of Gandhi” today on 1st October, 2022 to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti in collaboration with IQAC, NSS Unit and Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee of the college under the aegis of Shikshit Bharat.
Four teams participated in the quiz contest. Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Assistant professor of Education acted as quiz master, Prof. Paseeb Kumar Bhagat acted as observe, Dr. Nazim Mohi Ud Din Wani acted as scorer and Prof. Pardeep Kumar acted as time keeper. The objective of the quiz contest was to aquaint the younger generation with the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. Prizes and certificates are also distributed among the participants after the end of the quiz.
Principal of the college, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh appreciated the participation of the students in the quiz contest. She motivated the students to read about the Indian freedom struggle to know the contribution of the freedom fighters for the freedom of India.
Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Convener, Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee) and Dr. Vandana Rajput (NSS Programme Officer) provided special assistance in organizing the quiz contest. , Prof. Sushma Kumari , Mr. Rattan Lal and Mr. Sham Lal also participated in the programme.
Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Assistant Professor of Education, acted as Quiz Master to conduct Divisional Level Quiz on the topic "Life and Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi" organized by Government College for Women, Parade Ground Jammu on behalf of Department of Higher Education, UT of J&K on28th September 2022.
NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Jourian conducted a cleanliness drive under the campaign “Swachhta Hi Sewa Hai”. The programme was conducted in collaboration with IQAC, Health & EcoClub and Activity & Cultural Affairs Committee of the college. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the College Dr. Anuradha Pandoh encouraged the students to participate in such activities with full enthusiasm. The students collected garbage from the college campus and its surroundings and they also removed the weeds and extra grass to keep the campus beautiful. As part of ongoing ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign, NSS unit, IQAC, Activity and Cultural Affairs committee, Eco and Health club of GDC Jourian today on 20.09.2022 organized a pledge and a documentary on Mahatma Gandhi was also displayed to the students of the college. A large number of students participated in the programme.
In the programme students took pledge and they learned the importance of cleanliness. As Mahatma Gandhi himself believed where there is cleanliness there is god. “Cleanliness is Godliness”.
In the documentary on Gandhiji a message of cleanliness and non- violence was taught to the students of the college.

Govt. Degree College Jourian organized literary and sports activity today on 9th September, 2022 to commemorate the Shikhsak Parv (Teacher’s Day) in collaboration with IQAC, NSS Unit and Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee of the college under the aegis of Shikshit Bharat.
Students of semester II and IV participated in essay writing and tug of war competition on the occasion. A competition of the winning team of tug of war is also organized with teachers of the college to strengthen the bond between the two.
Principal of the college, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh appreciated the participation of the students and teachers in the activities. These activities are organized to pay obeisance to unwavering commitment of teachers for building the nation. She remarked that the activities are devoted to the teachers and coaches who work day and night to shape the future of younger generation. Prizes are also distributed among the winners of the competitions.

Govt. Degree College Jourian displayed a documentary on the ‘History of Teacher’s Day’ to acquaint the students with the life and contribution of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to commemorate the Shikhsak Parv in collaboration with IQAC, NSS Unit and Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee of the college today on 8th September, 2022. A large number of students watched the documentary to know the valuable contribution of Dr. Radhakrishnan in the field of education.
Principal of the college, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh while speaking on the occasion highlighted that Dr. Radhakrishnan was a versatile genius- a great scholar, writer, orator, philosopher, administrator and a diplomat. He started his career as teacher and rose to the highest post of the country that is president of India. She encouraged the students and teachers to follow the principles and ideals of Dr. Radhakrishnan in their day to day life.

Govt. Degree College Jourian celebrated “DogriManyataDiwas”to commemorate the inclusion of Dogri in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution under AzadiKaAmritMahotsava Programme. In this connection a poet conference in the college was organized in which local Dogri writers were invited and honoured. Founder DogriBhasha Academy, Jammu Yashpal ‘Nirmal’, MahamantriRajinder ‘Ranjha’ , President RoshanBral ‘Roshan’ were the guest of honours on the occasion and Ranbirsingh, Heenachoudhary, Subashchander ‘Farnalia’ were the special guests .
Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma Principal of the college presided over the programme, which was attended by large number of students of the college. Muskanverma, Sonia Bharti, Sonali Rajput, Meenakshi Rajput,Yashpal ‘Nirmal’, Rajinder ‘Ranjha’, RoshanBral ‘Roshan’, Ranbirsingh, Heenachoudhary, Subashchander ‘Farnalia’ and Dr.RakeshBharti recited Dogri poems and presented their Views on importance of Dogri.
In his presidential address, Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal lauded the efforts of Department of Dogri and IQAC for celebrating the day. Welcome address was delivered by Dr.RakeshBharti, Assistant Professor of Education and the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr.Rimjhim Gupta, HOD Dogri. Formal votes of thanks were presented by Dr.Vandana Rajput, Assistant professor of English. Members of the staff Prof NaseebKumar Bhagat, Prof Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Prof. NehaKumari, Dr PervazAhmed Mir also participated in the program.
Govt. Degree College Jourian organized an online show of documentary depicting the History of Jhansi to mark the Martyrdom of Rani Laxmi Bai (Jhansi Ki Rani) under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava programme today on 18.06.2021 in collaboration with IQAC and Activity/Cultural Affair Committee of the college under the able guidance and patronage of Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal of the college. After the show Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma , Principal of the college encouraged the students to study the history of Indian Freedom Struggle to understand the struggle and valour of freedom fighters like Rani Jhansi in the freedom struggle of India. A large number of students participated in the programme to watch the documentary through ZOOM Meeting App. Dr. Rakesh Bharti Conducted the proceedings of the programme and Dr. Rimjhim Gupta Presented the vote of thanks.
