IQAC and Career Counseling Wing of GDC Jourian in collaboration with IBS (ICFAI Business School) through ICFAI (Institute of Charter and Financial Analyst of India) organized an awareness Program on “Career after Graduation, Effective communication and how to face interview”. The Two Speakers from IBS information Office Jammu, made students aware about future options to the students, after they will complete their graduation, like; Governmental and Corporate. They also discussed about Privatization and Liberalization and suggested the students to improve their communication Skills. Principal of GDC Jourian, Anuradha Pandoh also encouraged students and suggested them to make their communication skills affective. She also suggested the students to focus on the career after their graduation. Dr. Rakesh Bharti (Convener IQAC), Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat (Convener Eco & Health Club), Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Convener Cultural & Activities Affairs Committee), Dr. Vandana Rajput (Programm officer NSS Unit), Prof. Sushma Kumari, Dr. Nazim Mohi Ud Din, Prof. Pardeep Kumar, Mr. Rattan Lal, were also present during the programme.
Ms. Naisha Sharma, Beauty and Wellness teacher freelancer was invited as resource person in the college. She acquainted the students with exciting career options in the field of beauty and wellness. She highlighted that beauty and wellness industry is one of the booming industries of the present time. She further added that the beauty and wellness sector will produce almost 7 million job opportunities in the next few years as per the reports. Principal Dr. Anuradha Pandoh motivated the students to pursue career in the field of beauty and wellness. She encouraged the students to hone beauty skills with Beauty Therapy Courses to kick start career in the field Dr. Rakesh Bharti Convener Career Counselling Cell presented formal vote of thanks. Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat, Dr. Vandana Rajput, Ms. Sushma Kumari, Dr. Nazim Mohi Ud Din were also present in the programme and provided assistance in conducting the same
Women Development Cell of Govt degree College Jourian organized a mehandi competition in the college. This programme was conducted in collaboration with NSS unit, IQAC and Activities and cultural affairs committee. A number of students participated in the competition on 12.10.2022. Principal of the college Dr. Anuradha Pandoh encouraged the students to take part in such competitions. She also stressed on the importance of the competition that mehandi is a form of art and is typically applied during Hindu weddings and festivals especially like Karwa Chauth. In the competition first position was bagged by Suhani and Bharti ,second position was bagged by Kashish, and third by Shakshi. The competition was judged by the Principal of Govt. Higher Secondary school Jourian Anu Bhardwaj, Sushma Sharma and Neelam Choudhary of Govt High school Jourian. At the end of the programme the winners were given the prizes. The whole programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Coordinator Women Development cell) and Dr. Vandana Rajput (co-coordinator women Development cell). Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat, Dr.Rimjhim Gupta, Dr. Vandana Rajput, prof. Sushma Kumari, Prof. Pardeep Kumar, Rattan Lal, Sham Lal also presented in the programme.
